Kris Werner (Inducted 2018)

Kris Werner, who said he is proud to have been raised in Fergus Falls, joins his father, Dick Werner, as an inductee into the Fergus Falls Area Chamber of Commerce Sports Hall of Fame.

Kris graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1984.

During high school he competed and earned letters in football, hockey and track and field.

He was an All-Section 8 honoree in hockey following the 1983-84 season.

From 1984 to 1988 Kris played hockey at Boston University. He graduated from this East Coast university in 1988.

In 1988, following college, he started working with R Werner Sales, a manufacturers sales rep agency with his father and twin brother, Kurk.

He continues his work today at Tag Up/Rischard Marketing, a graphics company.

Kris and his wife, Robin, have two children, Alise, 19, and Emily, 15. The family resides in Fergus Falls.

He said he enjoyed playing hockey in Fergus Falls with his brother, Kurk, and many other Otter athletes.

During their youth hockey years, Kris and Kurk were members of the Fergus Falls Bantam team that placed second at both the VFW and MAHA state tournaments.

Their father Dick Werner, a five-sport letter winner at FFHS, was active as a youth hockey coach in Fergus Falls.
