Longtin and Shelstad Qualify for AA State Boys Golf Tourney

For the second straight year Fergus Falls golfers Nate Longtin and Aaron Shelstad have qualified for the Class AA State Boys Golf Tournament. Longtin recorded a two-day score of 156 (80-76) to place fifth individually at the Town and Country Club in Bemidji, while Shelstad’s 158 (76-82) put him in seventh place and gave him the final qualifying spot from Section 8AA. 

Other individual qualifiers were medalist Nate Deziel of East Grand Forks with a 142 (71-71), Carter Justesen of Hawley with a 153 (73-80) and Adam Tonsfeldt of Barnesville with a 158 (78-80). 

Detroit Lakes captured the team title with a score of 617 (311-306), well ahead of runner-up Fergus Falls at 652 (327-325). Roseau was third with a 666 (335-331), followed by East Grand Forks at 667 (335-332), Barnesville with a 674 (341-333) and Warroad at 682 (342-340). 

Individual scores for the Lakers were as follows, Wyatt Blomseth (76-71-147), Hunter Burnside (76-78-154), Ryan Paskey (81-79-160), Ben Unruh (82-78-160), Lukas Justesen (79-81-160) and Collin Ginnaty (80-84-164).

Other Fergus Falls scores included a 166 (85-81) from Hayden Shol, a 172 (86-86) from Noah Raitz, a 175 (86-89) from Chance Fazio and a 179 (92-87) from Trey Soydara

Barnesville scores included a 169 (90-79) from Grant Inniger, a 170 (84-86) from Charle Aakre, 179’s from Jackson Ernst (89-90) and Mason Moen (91-88) and a 183 (91-92) from Logan Ernst

Charlie Rasmussen of Perham shot a 169 (84-85) and Philip Guck of the Yellowjackets turned in a 201 (98-103).
