B-E Softball Team Takes Two from Hillcrest

By Craig Olson - Fergus Falls, MN

The Brandon-Evansville softball team won a pair of games from the Hillcrest Comets on Monday at Hannah Park in Fergus Falls, posting wins of 14-1 in six innings and 17-0 in four innings.

Mikenna Pattrin (6IP, 3H, 1R, 1ER, 2BB, 7K) was the winning pitcher in game one. She also went 1-for-3 at the plate with a run scored and a run batted in. Kristen Kokett (3-5, R), Payton Schaefer (3-4, 2R, 2 RBI), Emily Bukkila (1-5, 2R, 2 RBI), Allie Satterlie (1-3, 2R, 2 RBI), Sara Jacobson (1-4, R, RBI) and Bailey Schaefer (1-4, 3B, 2R, 2 RBI) were the hitting leaders for the Chargers.

“Mikenna threw an excellent game to start off this double header and the defense played very sound behind her,” said Head Coach Kasi Sieling of Brandon-Evansville. “Offensively, we hit the ball hard and strung the hits together to bring runners in.”

Leaders in game two were Pattrin (3-4, 2B, 2R), Satterlie (3-3, 2B, 4R, 2 RBI), Alena Shores (3-3, Grand Slam HR, 2R, 8 RBI), Bukkila (2-4, HR, 3R, 2 RBI) and Payton Schaefer (2-3, 2R).

“Our bats stayed hot and the girls hit the ball extremely well in the second game,” said Sieling. “It was awesome to see so many of our players come in and contribute to this victory. Sara Jacobson (2IP, 1H, 4K) and Kristen Kokett (2IP, 2H, 5K) had great command and the defense played an excellent game behind them. It was great to see everyone come together to play two all-around, solid games.”
