OTC Baseball and Softball Teams Venture Outdoors

On Tuesday, April 10 both the Ottertail Central Baseball and Softball teams took to outdoor practice.

"What a difference from one year ago," commented Baseball Coach Ryan Hendrickson. "I guess we just really wanted to get outside to practice some situational ball, so we had fun with it.  We put our boots on and practiced on our snow covered field. It looked like a scene out of the movie "The Sandlot" where there were just players out playing for the fun of playing the game, only the entire field was covered with snow, and even snowbanks."

Both the Softball Coach, Jason Rogers, and Baseball Coach, Ryan Hendrickson commented that "Enough is enough, we just had to get outside, mix up our routines and just have fun!"

The Baseball team really mixed up their practice schedule this week, in knowing that practicing indoors can get a bit monotonous. Monday was a typical indoor practice, Tuesday was the Snowball intersquad scrimmage, Wednesday was Homeschool practice where the boys stayed at their individual OTC School and had practice with a different coach at each location, Thursday is Typical indoor practice with a Bunting Scrimmage, and Friday they will be heading to the Battle Lake Shoreline for a Bowling Scrimmage.

"We believe we are ready for competition, we will continue to work hard, putting in more fundamentals and team rotations, but we are at a point right now that we can reward our hard work with some fun too," said Coach Hendrickson.
