King Signs with Cobbers

By Craig Olson
Fergus Falls, MN

Fergus Falls senior Marshall King will join his brother Joel as a member of the Concordia Cobbers football team.  King has signed a National Letter of Intent to play football for the Cobbers at Concordia College in Moorhead.

"I'm excited that Marshall gets to continue his football career with his brother and other former Otters up at Concordia," said Fergus Falls Head Football Coach Steve Olson.  "Marshall started his junior season with an illness that set him back that season, but he put a ton of work in the weight room before his senior season and it really paid off."

King had 21 receptions for 415 yards and 4 touchdowns his senior season as a tight end and was extremely valuable as a defensive back for the Otters.

"One stat I wish we kept was big catches on third down because Marshall would have had a good number of those for us," said Olson.  "He had 25 tackles defensively and was a very good cover Corner for us.  Last I talked to Marshall they are going to start on the defensive side but that can always change.  Marshall has really nice size for a defensive back that all schools are looking for."
