B-E Girls Record LEC Road Win at Hillcrest

By Craig Olson - Fergus Falls, MN

The Brandon-Evansville girls basketball team recorded a Little Eight Conference road victory on Thursday night when they handed the Hillcrest Comets a 59-27 loss in Fergus Falls.

“We played really well tonight from the very start,” said Brandon-Evansville Head Coach Sam Lange. “The girls were having fun and playing much more relaxed and with lots of energy. Felt really good to get back in the win column, but more importantly it felt good to play well as a team.”

Sara Jacobson led the Chargers with 14 points. Haddey Zastrow added 8 points and 3 assists. Brittany Korkowski had a team high 6 rebounds and Allie Satterlie added 9 points. The Chargers made 33% (20-59) of their field goal attempts and 75% (12-16) of their free throws.

Leaders for the Comets were Mackenzie Foss (8 points, 4 rebounds), Olivia Foss (7 points, 6 rebounds), Anna Murray (10 points, 4 rebounds) and Kate Peterson (2 points) Hillcrest shot 27.5% (11-40) from the field and made 5-of-11 free throws.

“Brandon-Evansville played aggressively on both ends of the floor and we had no answer for them,” stated Hillcrest Head Coach Hannah Clark. “We were lost on defense most of the night and gave up too many offensive rebounds. I thought Mackenzie did a good job handling the ball against their defensive pressure. Anna Rasmussen worked hard the whole game and I was happy with her effort tonight. We will take what we learned from tonight’s game and use it to get better in practice tomorrow.”
