Erlandson and Pajari Win Individual Events at Alexandria

The Fergus Falls Boys Swimming and Diving team competed in Alexandria on Thursday night with the Cardinals posting a 110-74 win in the varsity meet and Fergus Falls winning the JV meet 82-39.

"The Otters swam and dove very competitively against a strong Alex team," said Head Coach Tom Uvaas. “We moved our swimmers to a few new events and stacked our 3 relays with our 4 fastest swimmers. The purpose was to experiment as we get ready for True Team Sections on January 20." 

In diving, Evan Erlandson placed 1st with a score of 232.15 and Caleb Neubauer was 2nd with 188.10. 

Will Pajari had the only first place in the swimming events, winning the 100 butterfly (:58.76). Sawyer Votava battled Nick Olson of the Cardinals in the 500 freestyle, finishing just 3-tenths of a second behind him to take second place with a time of 5:19.21, his best time in the event. 

Votava was also second in the 200 freestle (2:00.36).  Other second place finishers were Will Prody in the 100 backstroke (1:01.48) and Seth Edman in the 100 breaststroke (1:12.21).

The Otters also claimed second in all three relays.  Prody, Pajari, Tyler Hansen and Tristan Trosvig comprised the 200 medley relay team (1:48.73).  They were also the members on the 200 freestyle relay team (1:34.69).  Alexandria swam exhibition in the 400 freestyle relay, however, the time of 3:34.49 turned in by the same combination of Otter swimmers was the second fastest time in the event.

Third place went to Titus Seland in the 200 IM (2:28.97) and Tyler Hansen in the 50 freestyle (24.11).

Finishing fourth were Gavan Anderson in the 200 IM (2:30.45), Will Pawlowski in the 100 backstroke (1:07.72) and Ben Nuss in the 100 breaststroke (1:15.79).  Anderson also took fifth in the 100 freestyle (58.82), Nuss was fifth in the 200 IM (2:30.74), Isaac Pederson was fifth in the 500 freestyle (6:27.66), Luke Andersen was fifth in the 100 butterfly (1:09.43), Andrew Danielson was fifth in the 200 freestyle (2:15.32) and Seth Edman was fifth in the 50 freestyle (26.75).

The Otters will head back to Alexandria for the True Team Meet on Saturday, January 20.
