Rockets Claim Third Place in Pelican Rapids Holiday Tourney

By Craig Olson - Pelican Rapids, MN

With their 83-50 victory over the Warroad Warriors on Friday afternoon the Underwood Rockets claimed third place in the Minnesota National Bank Holiday Classic Boys Basketball Tournament in Pelican Rapids.

"This was a strong team win," acknowledged Head Coach Jesse Arbuckle of the Rockets.  "Our defensive play was sound and consistent throughout the game.  They continuously gave great effort and worked together.  Offensively, all the guys contributed and playled unslelfish basketball.  The ball movement created some high percentage looks that the guys converted on."

Brodey Rocholl made six 3-pointers on the way to a 33 point game and Camen Andrews nailed three first half treys, posting 19 points in the game, including 4-for-4 from the free throw line.  Daxton Olson finished with 9 points for the Rockets.  Post Players Winston Heifort (7), Nick Seiple (6) and Levi Blaskowski (6) combined for 19 points, 15 of them in the second half.

"Brodey had one of the best all around games I have seen him play," noted Arbuckle.  "Offensively, he was making great decisions and he shot the ball very well.  Camen was also a difference maker for us, hitting some very big shots and Daxton was also a contributor in this win.  I'm excited to see how our posts are stepping up their games.  Each game they continue to improve and make more and more of an impact."

Tyler Fox scored 18 points to lead the Warriors and Jett Shoen finished with 11 points.

Underwood (3-4) has won three of their last four games.  They will host Wheaton/Herman-Norcross on Tuesday, January 2 and travel to Rothsay for a Little Eight Conference game on Thursday, January 4.
