Battlers Top Rockets in Little Eight Contest

By Craig Olson - Battle Lake, MN

The Battle Lake boys basketball team led by just two points (36-34) at halftime, but outscored Underwood 29-20 over the final eighteen minutes for a 65-54 Little Eight Conference win in Battle Lake on Thursday night.

“We moved and shared the ball well on the offensive end,” said Head Coach Dan Peterka of the Battlers. “Underwood has a nice team who shoots the ball well. We executed well down the stretch and were able to secure a tough win.”

Bennet Cameron led the Battlers with 20 points.  He was joined in double figures by Isaiah Dorn with 13 and Colton Kirschbaum with 11.

Brodey Rocholl poured in 28 points to lead the Rockets and Camen Andrews added 11 points. Daxton Olson finished with 7 points and 4 assists.

“We played a strong first half with Battle Lake,” commented Coach Jesse Arbuckle of the Rockets.  “In the second half, we missed some nice looks at the rim that could have made it a different ball game.  We also gave up a few more open looks in the second half to Battle Lake.  I was proud of how the guys continued to work hard throughout the game.  Rocholl had a great game for us tonight.   Olson and Andrews also played well for us tonight, hitting some good looking outside shots.  Battle Lake played a very disciplined game tonight.
