Perham Rides 3 Champions to Third Place Finish at STMA Wrestling Invite

The St. Michael-Albertville Wresting Invitational was held on Saturday with the host team winning the event with 210.5 points, just one point ahead of runner-up Forest Lake (209.5). Perham was third with 195, followed by Waconia (193), St. Cloud Tech (157), Dassel-Cokato (62), Sauk Rapids-Rice (56) and Robbinsdale Cooper (12). 

Jack Fudge (138) was a champion for the Yellowjackets, beating Prestin Bradley of Dassel-Cokato, 8-4. Zachary Peterson was first at 182 pounds, recording an 11-7 decision over Grant Parrish of Forest Lake in the championship match. The other Perham champion was Ty Moser (220) who beat Jake Hawkins of Waconia by a 15-5 major decision in the title match. 

Two Perham wrestlers, Blaze Brady (106) and Gabe Bellefuille (126) finished as runners-up in their respective weight classes. Brady lost by Fall to Tyson Peitz of Waconia in the title match and Bellefuille lost his championship match 10-8 to Nathan Nygaard of St. Michael-Albertville. 

Claiming third for the Yellowjackets were Dylan Johnson (113) with a Fall at 5:39 of his title match against Andrew Wollak of Sauk Rapids-Rice, Owen Werner (120) with a 7-5 victory over Max Amann of Forest Lake, Dylan Fudge (152) with a 9-4 decision over Dallas Hooper of St. Cloud Tech, and Dawson Kellog (195) who beat Pedro Castillo of Forest Lake, 7-0. 

Leighton Rach was fourth at 145, Wyatt Guck took fifth place at 160, Noah Rooney was sixth at 132, and Domini Gottwaldt was sixth at 220.
