Barnesville Boys Basketball Awards

The Barnesville Trojans Boys Basketball team held their end of the year awards banquet on Monday, April 10 in the old gym at Barnesville High School.

The following players received awards for the 2016-2017 Boys Basketball Season.

Charle Aakre was the recipient of the Most Valuable Player award while earning a spot on the Heart O’ Lakes All-Conference team. Aakre also led the team with Most 3-Pt Field Goals made-32, Most Steals- 40, Free Throw percentage- 76.1%, Most Rebounds- 127, Field Goal percentage-46.1% and 3-Pt Field Goal percentage- 34%.

Joey Roste was named Defensive Player of the Year, while being named to the Heart O’ Lakes All-Conference team. He also won the award for Most Points scored- 295 points.

Hunter Zenzen was named Hardest Worker, with Adam Tonsfeldt earning Rookie of the Year awards, while Kellen Hinsz won the award for Most Inspirational.

Jaden Peterson earned the award for Most Assists, while Captain Awards went to Peterson and Roste, with Senior Awards going to Joey Roste, Connor John and Brad Hochhalter.

Coach Hinsz handed out the Hardest Worker award for the Junior Varsity to Jason Henrickson, with Coach Suter giving the Hardest Worker award for the Freshman team to Blake Torfin.

Congratulations to the players and coaches on a successful 2016-2017 basketball season.
