Spidahl Ski Gaard Hosting Candlelight Ski Night Saturday
This Saturday night, January 26, Spidahl Ski Gaard is hosting a candlelight ski combined with a potluck and music.  Although they have had many moonlight skis in the past, the food and music is a first.

If you wish to eat, bring a dish to pass, and to anyone interested in making a little music, you are welcome to bring instruments.  They will be putting luminaries out late afternoon and the potluck will start at 5:30pm. Luminaries will be lit at approximately 7:00pm.   The moon doesn't rise until 7:00pm and won't be well up in the sky until 8:30pm.   Event fee is $5.00 per person with a maximum of $15.00/family.  Rentals are $2.50 for those older than 12.

If you can't make it, the Otter Tail Nordic Ski Association will be sponsoring another Moonlight Ski in February at Spidahl Ski Gaard.

M State Volleyball Announces Three Recruits
M State-Fergus Falls volleyball coach Terri Strom recently signed three high school seniors to letters of intent to attend M State and participate in the volleyball program.

Miranda Lockhart, a 3-year starter from Perham has committed to M State.  Lockhart received All-Conference honors in the Heart O' Lakes Conference in 2011 and 2012.  She led her team in kills and blocks her senior year.  She is the daughter of Barb Lockhart and Stacy Lockhart.

Jacquelyn (Jackie) Imsande, a middle hitter from New York Mills, was also signed by Strom.  She earned the Team Eagle Award along with All-Conference honorable mention her senior year.  She is the daughter of Rebecca Clarksean.

"I look forward to coaching both of these young ladies," said Coach Strom.  "They both provided some stability in our front row as the Spartans lose most of our hitters from last year's National Tournament team."

Reva Renollet, a setter from International Falls, is the third player to sign with M State.  Reva was her team's MVP for 2011 and 2012.  She received All-Iron Conference honors the last two seasons and All-Arrowhead Conference honors in 2012.

"Reva is a left handed setter that will provide some extra hitting power on offense and chaos for opposing defenses," noted Strom.
